Sudhir Ahluwalia, author of the book “Holy Herbs”, which deals with modern connections to ancient plants. He is also a business consultant with the experience of over 38 years. He has served the Indian Forest Service for over 23 years and has leveraged his love for nature and management skills into that of author, business consultant, herbalist and organic food expert. He has been a freelance columnist too writing off and on for multiple technology and other journals from India and North America. One of his careers highlights involved handling different natural ecosystems including one of the global biodiversity hotspots in the Western Ghats region in Southern India. These varied ecosystems are home to thousands of species herbs, trees and plants in use in the world. He is broad certified in managing natural ecosystems, raising industrial scale plantations of trees and herbs, policy formulation, planning, collection, cultivation and sale of forest and forest based products. Sudhir Ahluwalia, has a remarkable career as a management consultant for over 15 years heading multiple consulting groups including a group on forestry, social sector, retail, business and finance in Asia’s largest Information Technology company TATA Consultancy Services. He has managed, supervised and led multidisciplinary teams in consulting projects in India, USA, Canada, UK, South Africa, West Africa, China and Turkey. His clients include Fortune 100 companies like Boeing, ICAO Canada, Government of UK, Government of India, Government of Bhutan, State Governments, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Japan Bank for International Cooperation to name a few. Some of these projects included recommending strategies for managing entire ecosystems. Meaningful work always makes a differences – He has expertise in turning around sick and struggling companies, transforming public sector institutions, re-engineering business processes, conducting due diligence for acquisition and merger of companies, building global strategic sourcing models for food and other product companies. He has been India Representative for MRK Nanjing, a state owned trade and investment facilitation company of the Peoples Republic of China.
